In a spur of the moment
Waves of memories
Can come crashing in
An inept heart’s chance
Of survival, is a bit slim
It can either drown or stay afloat
Until someone hears its hoarse bellows
But how long can it survive?
Until it had drank too much
Of the memories
Until it’s too worked out
To keep itself floating
Although, floating itself
Isn’t really much of a help
It can drift along the vast coast
Of emptiness forever
It can lie in wait for the rescue
That may never come
But when exhaustion sets in
It can surrender itself
To the crashing waves
